My new release cake pan has leaked from one side - and half the cake batter is now lying on the oven floor -
Bluehue turns cake pan 180 degrees
Closes oven door
Makes another stronger coffee
Wanders down hall
Bangs head on desk .................doh - doh - doh - doh.
Some days are diamonds
Others are just plain messy
Gotta laugh - because it looks quiet specky having this volcanic action forming in the bottom of ones oven.
Hmm, guess we all know what Bluehue will be doing this evening ![]()
Just thought i would share - for those who are having a perfectly happy clean day - LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL

Faulty pan? I would send that back if I were you. So sorry for your mini disaster - I had the 3D train pan stick on me yesterday and the cake come out in pieces
! I got as much batter off the pans as possible and replaced it on the cakes, then washed the pans and remolded them, sealed with cling-wrap and froze immediately in a vain hope that the moisture freezing will somehow weld it all back together. They are now defrosting, so we will see if that worked! I have already decided to ganache this cake before decorating with BC, just to give it more stability, even if it did work. Otherwise, like yourself, I will be baking again tonight!
Oh no! ![]()
I think you handled it unbelievably well! I hope your day got better & it wasn't too difficult to clean your oven!
Yes, I agree with other posts, betta do something about that blasted tin!
Oh, well... maybe we should all check our tins before baking with them for the first time, perhaps when we do the initial wash to fill it up with water & check for any leaks! ![]()
I finally just lined the bottom of my oven with aluminum foil so all I have to do is remove it when I have one of those days. (I hate cleaning the oven) You handled it very well though. ![]()
"Well that's a fine mess Bluehue..."
I can just hear your best Laurel and Hardy voice behind that statement!
And, Bluehue, my favorite thought when it's a "lemonade day" is this:
When life hands you lemons.......
(stuff them in your bra --can't hurt, might just help!)![]()

Some days are diamonds
Others are just plain messy
I saw a similar phrase on Twitter the other day:
Some days you're the bug.
Some days you're the windshield.

Bluehue, Im with you on this, One time i was baking a large cake and had the Core thing in the middle , and i went to peek into the oven
and the baking core had floated up on top of the cake, I had forgotten to put batter into it
But a lesson learned here, ![]()

Now, THAT'S funny!!! ![]()
I would have skipped the coffee and gone right for the scotch.
Sorry you had such a crappy day. It only goes up from there, right?

LOL - at the bug/windscreen bit - thats cute.
Well i got it all sorted - and the oven was sparkling later that night - (mind you, we had take away as i certainly wasn't in the mood for cooking) ![]()
Took pan back to said shop -
Gave lady behind the counter a blank stare when she asked "everything alright dearrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrryyyyyyyyyyyy"
Hmmmm, not exactely -
Awweee, how can i make your day better?
Wellll, you could kindly replace this leaky cake pan - thankyou very much.
Oohhhhh, did WE have a problem - did we?
Please don't stand there smug - as i am not in the mood for smugness.
Just kindly take this, and replace it with one that is JOINED correctly at the seams -
Hmmmm, and how do you know this one isn't?
Your kidding right - why else would i be here?
Welllllll madam - we need varification
Rightio - go out the back - get a bucket of water - come back - place pan in bucket - then sit pan on your counter - and lets get varification
No need for that tone madam.
I am not your MADAM and you haven't heard tone yet - and consideing that i had to drive 30 minutes to return this leaky pan - i am thinking that i should get a new pan at no cost - because not only has my time been wasted - my oven needed cleaning - my car needed refueling to come here, i am down one lot of cake batter........which put me behind the eight ball .......................hows that for tone .............madam?
Needless to say - Bluehue walked out with a new FREE cake pan - and a smile on her face.
Yayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy, i was windscreen and not the bug. ![]()
