Cupckae Stand Round Or Square

If you were to make a cupcake stand could you tell me which shape you would make and why? Do you think round or square ? If they are roughly the same size ( stand) which do you think looks nicer and which would hold more cupcakes? Any thoughts?

I made a round one first, just because i see it used more often, but I actually think a square one looks nicer, and i think it would hold more cupcakes as well.

Hi, I'm new to this- just a hobbyist, but I also like the square ones. They just look cleaner and I guess the contrast in shapes (cupcakes round, stand square) looks nicer. JMO.

The square ones definitely hold more cupcakes. Honestly, I love the look of square and round. I don't think that you can go wrong!

I made a rectangle stand out of a set of bamboo cutting boards I found at Walmart for $13. I went to the lumber yard and had 2 pieces of hand rail cut to 5". The legs are wooden door pulls from the hardware dept at walmart= total cost about $20. It fits a 6" centerpiece cake on top and at least 3 dozen cuppies on the bottome 2 tiers. There are several pics in my photos of it being used. The edges of the boards fit a 3/8" ribbon perfectly to coordinate with the design.
