Go to the forums section and scroll down to the cookie section. There are a lot of threads on different cookies and icings. I personally like the No Fail Sugar Cookie recipe on this site. ( You can find it under cookies in the recipe section). I also like the icing for decorated cookies, which is Antonia74's recipe.

Another suggestion is go to the articles section and read the tutorial by Antonia74 on making decorated cookies. It is a great tutorial and has both of these recipes.

Welcome to Cake Central!!

Toba Garrett's book : Creative Cookies is a good book to start out with. I learned a lot from it.
