Hope this isn't a dumb question......is it safe to put silk flowers on a cake?
I've done it and seen it done many times. I usually wrap the stems with cellophane or floral tape if I'm inserting them into the cake.
If you wrap them with cellophane, how do you ensure that the cellophane comes out with the stem when they pull it off to cut the cake? I'm always worried that the cellophane will slip off and stay in the cake and someone will get a mouth full of Saran Wrap (or even Scotch tape). Thoughts on that?
I'm assuming the person cutting the cake doesn't necessarily know that the cellophane is there and that they need to ensure it comes out with the stem.
