Gumpaste Hydrangea Help

I am making gumpaste hydrangea and when i go to but the stamen wire through the petal center, the gumpaste rips....what am i dong wrong?Thanks for any help!

do you think you have rolled the g/p too thin.. if i could see it. then i could help you. plus telling all that you did..
