Create Fondant Record Albums To Put On Cupcakes
Decorating By swimbley Updated 2 Oct 2009 , 3:21am by jamiekwebb
My son wants a birthday party with the theme of music. I want to create a variety of cupcakes and top each with a mini record that is made from fondant.
I am unsure if something specialis required to tin the fondant a deep black.
I am also unsure what to use to create the univorm look of record grooves.
Should I use a small round cutter to cut out the record? How can I create a center disc of another color.
I don't do a lot with fondant yet so any direction is appreciated.
Thank you
It's easier to make chocolate fondant and then color it black than it is to color white fondant black. But it can be done, sometimes it gets too crumbly to cover a cake but since you're making small things it would be fine.
If you have a set of round cutters you could use those to make the circle indentations. To make the center a different color, just cut out a circle of black from the center, cut out another circle the same size but a different color, and stick it in the hole you cut out of the black part.
buy the fondant pre colored. Maybe if you just lightly push different sized circle cutters into the fondant...
