Yeah, you will find great recipes on CC. There's no difference between recipes for a wedding cake, birthday cake, anniversary cake, celebration cake or all-occasion cake, so any of the great recipes will work great for you.

Just made a fantastic cake - Golden Vanilla Cake - from Kingarthurflour.com
It was very simple to make. I make it in a 10 x 3 pan. It makes 6 1/2 cups batter. Filled this pan and made a 2 1/4" layer. I put a towel wrap around it to keep the baking even. First time I used this method and was very happy. My husband said it reminded him of a pound cake.

Also, the description that the website gives of the cake is right on. Good luck.
