AC Moore as a Chocomaker chocolate fountain. There is one review on amazon.com and it is very positive. With a 40% off coupon it's fairly cheap, under $30. I'm hosting a baby shower next weekend and am always looking for a reason to buy new stuff, so will it work? The Chocomaker website says I can put cheese, bbq sauce and other stuff in there too... thoughts? have you done it? Any tips on how to make this a successful endevour and not a big nasty screw up at the shower? TIA!!

I'll be posting questions soon about the cake and party favors icon_smile.gif

I own 4 or 5 chocolate fountains and offer them as a package to my brides. They are VERY popular! Under $30 is a good price and if you sell this service, you will recoup your money in one booking. I use 2 fountains at a reception (easier access and faster serving).

I would recommend the chocolate discs that are specifically designed for chocolate fountains .... I order mine thru my local cake supply store. A 25-lb box will last me anywhere from 3-5 weddings.

If you want add'l info, feel free to PM me and I'll be more than happy to get into detail about costs and such. You can also check out the info on my website (link below) and photos of my set up on our supplemental site at http://www.flickr.com/photos/55969028@N00/.

(Do you have a Kohl's store near you? I was in one yesterday and they had fountains marked down 70% off to a price of $21. I'm going back to get 2 or 3 of them!)

Thank you so much for the information. I went to Kohl's today and they had quite a few and I bought one for $21! They also had smaller ones for $17. I really appreciate you taking the time to respond so I could get a chocolate fountain!! Thanks again!

I helped a friend of mine with catering a wedding a few weeks ago. They rented a large commercial choc fountain. It was such a hit, I went and bought a small one the next day (for $25). We have used it at several family/friend occasion since and it is always a hit.

I have two of the smaller home type ones that I use when we have birthday parties or functions at work. People just love them. icon_lol.gif
They are so fun and the stuff you dip is unlimited...

If I were to get another one it would be more of a commercial unit like sephoria or something like that.

Worth the money, oh ~ and you can get the base chocolate wafers for the fountains at BJ's or Sams club for not a lot of money. It's good stuff.
