Lining Pans With Wax Paper? Urgent!

I just put a honey cake in the oven and I lined the pan with wax paper? It's not completely covered with the batter. Will it smoke or burn or be okay?

Getting nervous. Thanks!

I only line the bottom of my pans so i really don't know. i guess your about to find out. I would think it would be okay, but one never knows.

Thanks for your response. It turned out fine. I don't think I would do it again- I sort of did it quickly and without thinking- but it didn't smoke or smell or melt.

You have to use parchment paper, to line pans, and bake with, not wax, wax ,melts
