Topsy Turvy Cakes With Or Without Fondant?

Has anyone of the "master" bakers ever successfully made a Topsy Turvy cake not using fondant? If so, do you have any pictures?

Tonedna reigns supreme over that area (IMHO). I've only made them using buttercream...some with fondant accents some all buttercream but none have I covered in fondant....yet.
