How Many Foam Cores?

I am just worried if foam core is strong enough to support each tiered cake
This is what I am planing to do.
one 3/16" for 6" cake
one 3/16" for 8" cake
one 3/16" for 10" cake
one 1/2" for 12" cake
the cake drum would be two 1/2" put together.
What do you think?
Any suggestions, please.

you will be fine, but one suggestion, i would only put a 3/16 under the 12in then that on the base will be enough to support what you want to do, and the thinner boards are a lot cheaper then the 1/2 in

Plus, then your cakes will all be similar heights.

Great info. I've used foamcore, but not with tiers. I've always wondered if the 3/16 size would be sturdy enough under one tier.
