Various Goal Posts??

i need to make a basketball goal hoop, soccer goal and football goal posts about 4" high, does not have to be edible, how would you go about making them.im stumped for ideas...

dowel rods covered in fondant; pretzel sticks covered in fondant; sucker sticks coverd in fondant.

I can tell you what does not work if you make it from gumpaste and stick it in the cake the moisture from the cake will soften it and in a few hours it will be laying flat on the cake.
