I haven't make MMF in a while, always use the same recipe but now I have lots of sugar lumps in it , I did 3 times and still the same, I sifted the sugar, What am I doing wrong? please help, I have a cake for Friday!!!!
It needs to "rest". As it rests, the excess sugar lumps will dissolve.

I think part of my problem was putting the MM in too hot. This past Friday I made a batch and let it cool just a little before sugar touched it and it seemed to be fine... just a couple lumps.
All the other suggestions were fantastic though... using new sealed sugar, letting it set overnight, sifting, wishing upon the fondant fairy.
