a chocolate filling. Anyone have one they would like to share that I could use on an upcoming cake?

How about a really chocolatey tasting filling. I've never made ganache, is there any way to make this into a filling that would be awesome?

I'm planning on making a cake with several layers

Last weekend I made ganache for the first time. I used some of the ganache and mixed it with cream cheese and it was awesome! Something like that would be easy, but it has to remain refrigerated.

dodibug, the chocolate recipe sounds delicious. Would I have to keep the cake refrigerated if I used this?

I looked at the recipe on the website again and it didn't say anything about refridgeration. The cream and butter have been cooked so I think it's ok to sit out for a bit in a cool room. I did put my cake in the fridge and the icing becomes very hard but once it sits out it softens up but does get the sweats!
