How long can I store gelatin sheets and still make a bow out of it? How would I store it?

I'm making a cake that requires black lace and I have a silicone lace mold. I think the gelatin method will work great because it's semi transparent. Since I only have one mold, I need to make them one at a time and store them until I assemble the cake. How far in advance can I start making the lace?

I keep mine in ziploc bags. You can put a piece of wax paper between them and store several in a gallon size bag. I have some from several months ago and they are just fine! Just be sure to keep them somewhere where they won't get bent up.
