You should've heard all the automated crud I had to wade through just to get to a live person (who then referred me to another organization). Lovely.

Well, anyway.....erinalicia, I'm SO glad you posted because, since no one in charge knows what they're doing, no one mentioned the pet rule to me. I do have an indoor dog, and he's more important than any cake so I will unfortunately have to put off the business until he is no longer with us. icon_sad.gif

I was really bummed at first, but now I'm just thinking, maybe this is the way it should be for now. I'm so passionate about cakes, that I often overestimate my life-juggling abilities. In a few years, the old dog will probably be in that big dog run in the sky, my kids will be a few years older, and I'll have some amazing tried and true recipes and techniques to knock everyone's socks off. Until then I will rely on you amazing bakers to keep inspiring me!

Don't cry for me, CC.....I will survive. As long as I know how to bake, I know I'll stay alive. I will survive, I will survive. Hey, hey! icon_biggrin.gif (sniff, sniff)

Good Luck, Julie! Our dogs are very important in our family too. Our labradoodle is my son's therapy dog and she's pretty attached to my hip too. When Aidan is upset she'll go in and lay on his floor or will climb up on the bed with him and he'll calm down. I've never seen anything like it. For that reason alone, I couldn't put her outside just so I could have a business.

I just do cakes for friends and family right now. For a while it seemed like I was doing a ton, but now it's settled down.

One day, I'll get to do this as a business, it'll just have to wait a little while longer.

Again, good luck! You do beautiful work!
