I can make a lot of mean tastin cakes icon_wink.gif but I can't for the life of me make cake balls!!! They come out too moist or with a funny texture. I have used 2 recipes on here that were rated really good. Does anyone have a recipe they can share with me that you've had good luck with? please =)

I CAN'T believe that I can't figure these out!!! icon_cry.gif

I do them like i do rum balls --

feels right, tastes right (which our family means HIGH test from all the rum)

I just crumble up the cake -- and add:

what depends upon taste I'm after.

could be creme
or leftover buttercream
or coffee creamer (little goes a long way on taste)
or alcohol (see rum!)

and always remember easier to add more liquid or BC if too dry and sneak up on the the moistness.

and -- still old fashioned here -- moosh it by hand -- the only way to get it "just right" for me.

then roll out and ---
well again -- depends -- could be chocolate dip or a roll in PS

check out Bakerella's website. She makes cake balls and cake pops. She has a recipe on her site and they look absolutely perfect in her pics. I tried making them once and didn't let them chill long enough. They fell apart and/or were not smooth. I just couldn't wait, lol. Next time....I'll do it right.
