Am making my brother a dalek cake for his birthday and have worked out most of the decoration except for the lil sink plunger thingy on the front!! Any ideas!!! doesnt have to be edible!

dowel (like ones used internally in a cake) or skewer depending upon size of cake -- with a bit of shaped gumpaste on the end -- and paint an appropriate color

(and the real deal actually was a sink plunger!)

EXTERMINATE!

I used a straw covered in foil and made the plunger out of a little bit of black fondant - I'll try and post a pic in a minute

its ok have made it now! i replaced the sink plunger wiv a candle!!
