I don't have an edible ink printer (yet) and I need to replicate an emblem on a football helmet cake, can anyone let me know a techniqe to do this? I thought about placing the image under a tranparency paper and using gumpaste to crereate the image, or I could do the same technique w/ royal icing and let it harden and then transfer? Any ideas?

You could try this method, I've done it many times with great success...

Then I traced that with piping gel out of a bag with tip 3. Place the wax paper or parchment with piping gel face down on already iced cake, press down, and remove. Then you have an outline of the item you want to replicate. All you need to do is fill it in...
