I so enjoyed looking at your creations. You will be missed. Please drop in once in a while and say hello. And keep coming up with those great designs of yours.
We'll be sorry to see you go especially by those of us who have greatly benefited by having you around. I hope your situation turns around soon and we can once again share in your lovely creations and wisdom.
Good luck with the new job.
I just saw this post and thought of you. Could this be an option for you?

My first thought was to sigh. You not being here will be a void. I also think you not doing cookies would not be a good idea, but I am not sure that is what you were thinking. I have a change coming up in my life as well and will have to adapt accordingly. My thought is that if you can't get on CC to load, still create your wonderful cookies and photograph them as you usually do. You can even use Word to keep a file of the write-ups you would usually post for each. Then, when the time is right and you can get back on, you will have all sorts to upload. I know that is not ideal, but I guess I am trying to give you something to look forward to, which is what I am trying to do with my situation.
In the interim, I will miss your cookies. I always love to see what you do! Best of luck in the new job!

I put in a question to see if the elimination of the ads will allow me to access CC at home. I'm so-o-o excited by the possibility of this working!Thank you for the link!!!!
I'm so sorry to hear that you may not be able to be on as much (I hope that link works out for you and you can find a way!)!! You are truly an inspiration and one of my cookie heroes!!
Please try to keep in touch from time to time...
Bonnie
i really hope something will work so you're able to stay on and inspire us again and again!!
Oh, this just doesn't seem right - CC without GeminiRJ? I am literally at a loss for the right words right now. It seems sad and wrong for our little cookie community to lose someone like you. I really hope something works out... don't leave!
In the meantime, good luck at your new job and putting up with Fred Flintstone!
Oh I do hope you will be able to go to your local library and get in here from time to time!!!! Best of luck to you in these hard times! XOXO

I just hope it will work for you, I know everyone (including myself) would love to keep you around!
I have not been a member long enough to get to know you, however after admiring pictures of your cookies I think I can safely say you are definately going to be missed! This may not help you feel better about your situation but I have always believed things happen for a reason. You may not be able to see what that reason is but eventually it will make sense. I do have one cookie question for you.... do you use MMF or royal frosting to frost your cookies? Thanks

I use this recipe, which is a glace:
3 cups powdered sugar, sifted
3 tablespoons skim milk (or other type milk, or water)
3 tablespoons corn syrup
15 drops brite white food color, optional (I use Americolor brand)
In a medium size bowl, mix together the powdered sugar, milk and corn syrup until fully combined (I just use a spoon to do the mixing). Add the brite white and mix well. You will want the icing to be the consistency of white school glue, or maybe a bit thicker. To thicken the icing, add more powdered sugar in small amounts. To thin, add more corn syrup in small amounts. Divide and color. The icing will stay fresh in the refrigerator for 2 to 3 weeks. The decorated cookies do not need to be refrigerated, and if you omit the brite white, it is definitely not recommended.
The brite white seems to help prevent the icing from getting cloudy and spotting, especially if it gets cold. Also, the high sugar content keeps the icing from spoiling, so that's why you can use the milk and not have to worry about refrigeration.
I know we don't 'know' each other, but I just wanted to say that I've also enjoyed looking at your amazing cookies.
I do wish you every success..... and I hope that perhaps you won't have to leave CC with the new option of not having the ads.
Very best wishes
Suzanne x
I've read from others who said that they can finally use CC because of the ad-free subscription. If I were you, I would definitely try it! Besides, you have to pay month to month, so you could try it out for only $4.95 and then cancel (or just not purchase) the next month if is doesn't work out for you...but I think it will! Good luck, and looking forward to seeing more of your work!
Gemini,

Yes, I still have some kits left. I'll be doing a cookie decorating class in October for the local ICES, and I'll hopefully be able to sell most of the remaining kits there. I know my husband is really looking forward to getting them out of our basement!
Even though I have not had to chance to get to know you I am sorry that you will have to miss out on CC. I don't know what I would do if I couldn't be on it now that I have found it. What kind of work do you do? I will have to look your cookies up. How much longer do you have? If you will send me your personal email address maybe we could stay in touch. I would love to learn all I can about cookies and from what everybody else says yours are wonderful. I willl take their word for it.
Awww i hpe you will be back soon! You have wonderful cookies and are a great inspiration.
Ditto that... I want info on cookie cutter kits.... I haven't been here for long and haven't heard about these!!
Here's the information on the 3D cookie cutter kit: (I'd add a photo, but I've had to delete all my photos from this computer)
Each kit comes with 5 cutters of powder coated, food grade stainless steel (2 body styles, 2 feet styles, 1 base) and a booklet containing 14 designs (13 animals, 1 clown). The booklet includes recipes and step-by-step instructions for baking, decorating, and assembling the cookies. There is a small photo of each completed design, as well as a full size line drawing. A second booklet of 12 designs (holiday and people) is also available, and the cutters work for these designs as well. The cost for the cutters, booklet, and shipping (U.S., Canada, Puerto Rico) comes to $17.95, or $18.50 if you want both booklets. If interested, my email address is [email protected]
You will be very missed! Hope this turns out to be a short-lived absence and you'll be back in full force with us soon!!!!
Good Luck to you and I wish you success with your job.
Your cookies have always amazed me and hope you find a way to keep in touch with all of us on CC.
You might not be getting on due to a security on your computer. It might be set too high.
Thanks for sending your email address. I have been so busy lately. I want to get on and find your cookies Gemini.
