icon_biggrin.gif Hello lovely helpful people. Does anyone know if you can bake a cake in the oven using a pudding steamer (minus the lid) I am about to make a Toadstool and the Steamer is the PERFECT size for the top part. I am just a little unsure if I can just throw it straight in the oven, Its one of the older style aluminium type ones. Thanks icon_biggrin.gificon_lol.gif I am learning slowly...

Hi doobsd,

I don't see why not.... I've read that soup and tuna cans and pyrex bowls have all been pressed into service as tins.

My Wilton pans are aluminum, and so is your steamer.

I'd say go for it as long as there aren't plastic handles or such that might create fumes in the oven.

Good luck and look forward to seeing pics of your toadstool icon_smile.gif
