German Chocolate Cake "pep-Up"

I'm going to make a german chocolate cake today using a box mix. I just wanted to know if I could pep it up with a chocolate pudding? Or would something else be better? Any suggestions would be helpful...

I don't know anything about mixes but I wanted to share what I do to add a little something to a german chocolate cake. I use the coconut pecan filling between the layers and pour chocolate ganache on top to cover it. Yummy!!
