Washing Machine Cake- Just The Legs

I made the washing machine cake (I think originally done by Lindy Smith?). I got the machine part but having trouble with the body hanging outside. My legs look more like stumps.

Does anyone have any tips on doing this?

Do you have some tylose or gum-tex to knead into the fondant to make it stand up better?

I do have tylose here... The legs are dry but the shape of them is terrible. Will the tylose help me shape them better?

Do you have any suggestions on how to shape them so they look more like legs and less like square-ish stumps?
