Hi! I've stacked a fondant tiered cake before, but not a BC. I am making a two-layer 10" cake and stacking a barn cake (Wilton house cake pan) on top of that. What would the progression be for crumb-coating, final BC coat on 10" and barn layers and decorations? Also, how in the world do you set the barn cake on top of the rounds and not mess up the icing on top of the rounds? I would truly appreciate your help!!! Thanks! icon_smile.gif

I would use dowels. THen put a little of powder sugar before stacking. On the buttercream I would use a crusting recipe and wait until it crust before stacking.

After you stack then fill in the gaps and smooth will be beautiful.

Good luck! icon_smile.gif

Refrigerate the cakes after putting the BC on. That way the icing will not be soft & you can place the second tier & 3rd.....without damaging the BC. You might have to do a little touch up.
