Single Plate Seperator Bigger Than Cake!!!

Getting ready to fill my cake for a wedding cake AND the square plate is slighly bigger than my 8" cake I use Fat Daddio's pans is there a reason why this is? What do I do? this cake is only having a ribbon for a border so there is no hiding it !!!!!

If you say it is only slightly bigger, is it still going to be bigger once you ice and decorate it? icon_biggrin.gif
