Has anyone had success with buttercream flames. I wanted to cover a whole cake (8" round) with them. Wanted to make them different shades - whitesh in the middle, yellow/orange, orange/red, red/brownish - going from the center out. Thought maybe putting two colors in a bag would achieve the desired effect. Any suggestions/pictures? TIA.

Yes you can stripe your bags with the colors you want to use and use the leaf tip to make flames. You may want to make the plugs and put them in your bag it will make it easier and not as messy when striping your bags. For the plugs put the BC frosting in saran wrap and roll them and stick those in your bag. There is a thread about it somewhere. I'll see if I can locate it for you. Make sure your BC is fairly stiff so that they stand up. HTH
