I have a bride who has sent me a couple of photos of cakes with horizontal pleating for reference. Does anyone have experience with horizontal pleating? The bride wants cream cheese frosting but may be okay with fondant to achieve the right look.
Try long strips of fondant with one side folded to achieve that folded look. Layer it and it will look like pleats.
Thanks RylanTy! I think it's definitely something I need to try it out before I tackle it on the actual cake.
Also, you can use Wilton's wide application tip, smooth side up for buttercream. Do bottom to top and overlap them a bit.
