How do you do the diamond pattern I see on a lot of topsy turvy/Mardi Gras theme cakes?

They use impression mats. global sugar art has them.

I bought some swuare cutters and just gave them a squeeze so they became slightly elongated.

I also use an impression mat that I got from Global Sugar Art. They sell them in different sized diamonds, so you can choose which one would be perfect for you.
