i used my sons guitar hero guitar and traced on a heavy piece of cardboard. then determined what cake sizes to use .then cut the cake out with template frosted with bc and then used fondant for different areas like the tuning knobs and the faceplate. i used royal icing for the frets and then for the stings used a clay extruder.ect ect
