I have to pry them open with both hands. I can manage to get the fondant in them but when I am prying them back open I keep messing up my pretty pearls icon_cry.gif Can someone help and give me the secret to them? Also I am wanting to buy a sugar gun for my fondant and I need some advise on that as well. I bought a cheap clay gun from Hobby Lobby but it is a syringe type and is too hard to push. I don't mind spending some money on one if it is good and I can actually use it.
TIA
Melissa

is it the hard plastic mold or the soft silicone one?

i have two of the hard plastic ones and i dont even bother to use them. i dont have a problem opening them, but i do not like the way they leave a seam.

if you have the same kind as i do, it should have tabs on the side that you can pull in opposite directions to open it up gently, then use a toothpick or something small to gently pull one edge loose and then let it drape down on your work surface. these are the directions on mine, but i still found it hard to get it out without twisting or stretching it...not to mention the seam too.

i am going to invest in a silicone one next time, they appear to work much nicer.

it may also be defective.perhaps you can have the seller replace it for you.

They are the CK silicone ones. They are a light blue color. I paid $25 each for them and I have only opened one so far. I don't know if I should opent he other one or take them back. I have been wanting them for a while and now I cant get them to cooperate!

I have the blue ones. i had the same trouble to begin with. I now fold the sides back towards each other, then quickly hold with one hand so they stay splayed open. Then I try to get the pearls out with a toothpick or something. I also found that greasing the inside of the mold made the end part easier. Sometimes they just fall right out when i get them open. And the more times you do the fold backwards part the looser the hold will be.

Good Luck,

Julia

I have the same ones too. I put my pearl dusts in them and then the fondant and close. I hold them open with one hand and pop the pearls out with a toothpick also. I would maybe try opening and closing them several times with out ant product in them and see if you can't loosen the mold up a bit. Maybe it is tight being a newly used mold. Hope this some what helps.

Since I can't afford to buy all of the different molds for different sizes can you tell me which size you use most for Fondant Cakes
