Carving A Horseshoe

I am wondering if anyone has any suggestions on what pan I should use to bake a cake to carve it into a horseshoe? I was think an oval but not sure. If anyone has any tips to help that would be great.

You can bake your cake in a sheet pan put the horseshoe pattern on it and just carve the shape.
