Hi All...
Can somebody please tell me how you get buttercream and fondant to look like silver??? I have tried the luster dust and the silver glaze and it just doesn't look like silver! I need it for a cake next weekend and I was wanting to "practice" this weekend.
Thank you!!
I'll bump but I would try a light grey color for the BC and fondant, and then use the luster dust or glaze.
I usually use the wilton pearl dust, and mix it with a tiny amount of vodka.
I have no answer for BC but for fondant I start with white then add just the tinyest amount of black food color. it will be a grey color. Then i dust it with the silver luster dust and voila!. Dont have to go to the bother of painting it and waiting for it to dry.

Thank you everybody...I'm don't think I have time to order it but I'm certainly glad to know there's a silver highlighter...they think of everything! I'm going to have to get one for the future for sure! I am going to try the silver luster dust ![]()

I just check this out. Looks nice, bu they are all NON-EDIBLE. Don't want to use that on BC, maybe paint on accent pieces made of RI or GP, but not anything that will/may be eaten.
