Hello All!
My name is Yolanda and I have been caking and decorating for a little over a year now, there is still so much I need to learn but I am eager and will love to hear what you all have to say on this.
I have a client who wants me to make a hannah montana guitar for her daughters birthday in August. I know to make the body of the guitar from cake but I am completely lost on how to implement the stem. If you have any ideas on how to do this please let me know.
Thank you so much for reading! Looking forward to hearing from you.
It may just be easier to go to Michael's craftstore and buy the Wilton guitar cakepan....very simple to use and makes a nice cake!
I made one this past spring. Too fun! I used stirofoam to make the neck. It's easy to carve the right shape and light enough to attach with a dowel and/or toothpicks to the guitar cake. Plus you can make it ahead of time. Have fun.
I am also making my brother an electric guitar cake this weekend. I bought the pan that Wilton makes (guitar shape, of course). I am new also and I would rather use that than carve out a shape
I have made two guitars that are in my photos. I baked a 12x18 sheet cake and used the guitar hero as a template. (I traced around it on a piece of paper) you can carve the body and neck out of the sheet cake. hth
