I was asked to make a cherry chip cake, and I am going to adapt it to the WASC recipe. Would it work to add cherry extract for flavoring? I am assuming that is what cherry chip flavor is. I have never had this flavor before. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Oh, I was hoping to make the cake today. ![]()

I think adding a bit more cherry flavoring would be nice,It also gives the batter a pink color from the red flecks in the cake.
For my cherry chip I reduce the amount of water and add chopped canned tart cherries, well drained.
