Caramel Cake?

Hi All:

I am looking for a recipe for a caramel cake with caramel icing?? Apparently this concoction exists and I have had a request, but no idea where to start!

Any help would be AWESOME!

Paula Deen has one called bobby's caramel cake (Foodnetwork) And Theres one in the cake mix Doctor book. It's a Banana cake with caramel Icing. I use the Icing recipe all the time.

This link is for a caramel cupcake recipe, but I'm sure you could make it into a cake as well. Dense cake, but very yummy.

Paula's recipe tastes nothing like caramel. I've tried it and was totally disappointed. If you find one that tastes like caramel, share the recipe! I've tried a few and have never gotten a good caramel flavor.

I used to have one and dh raved about it (and he's so over cake from living with me he rarely raves about anything). But now I can't find it!! Let me go look some more. I haven't looked very hard. I think it's on my old computer (we put everything on an external hard drive) and I've just not bothered to try to get to it....

This one is from one of my fav food blogs. I've made this one successfully with no prior caramel experience. Warning! This is NOT the easiest cake to make! However, it does taste like REAL caramel. Take your time and read her tutorial. I do not care for the frosting she uses but a brown sugar or burnt sugar icing would ROCK with this cake. Also, just your basic buttercream with the caramel syrup or dulce de leche added would be great too.
