I was asked to make a cake for my cousin who is making his vows on June 28th (he is becoming a priest). Does anyone have any suggestions on what the cake should look like? It needs to feed about 100 people....

I have no idea what a cake for a priest should look like! Its not like you can write "Congrats on Priesthood" or anything like that, lol....I want to make it look nice for him though....any suggestions would be great! icon_biggrin.gif

How about a cross or a Bible?

Or you could do a larger sheet with a cross on in. Or if you are good at carving, a large open bible would also be nice,or if you don't want to carve, just a couple sheets stacked and covered in fondant to resemble the bible.

Just throwing some thoughts out there.

Another thought is you could make a rosary out of gumpaste to put over the bible.

a cross with his rosary beads draped around it or maybe the "dishes" that they serve communion out of.

I was going to post one from the galleries, but there are to many beautiful ones to chose from...... go to gallery, and hit the search button, and type in STAINED GLASS......... a BAZILLION ideas...... ( I can't imagine why my hubby says I exaggerate ! icon_lol.gif )

I think a Bible cake sounds great. You could have the book open with a special verse. Maybe his favorite scripture!

Stained Glass Window would be nice the kind with the peaked top that rounds along the edges.

Could be done easily on a slab cake using piping gel and you could write one of his favorite psalms on it..

An open bible with a gold ribbon book mark with appropriate scripture piped on it? Something about servants or The Lord's Prayer?
