I'm making a chocolate cherry/black forest cake tomorrow, to be exact I'm using MacsMom's recipe. What kind of frosting would be good to cover this? Would a chocolate buttercreame w/ a bit of cherry flavoring added be good? Any and all suggestions are welcome. Thanks!

I've never made a chocolate ganache, what is it and is it simple to make? Anyone else have any suggestions?

It is made of cream and chocolate. It is very simple to make. Try searching the forums, it will tell you ways to make it. IT is also great to achieve sharp edges.
