We make the Easter Pie with meat all the time. I use it as an appetizer for special family dinners. All my old-timers are gone, and the young ones don't mind, as long as I make enough! ![]()

playingwithsugar,
Are you Italian, by any chance? We live by our guilt and the rules that cause the guilt.
If we make a holiday dish "out of season", the logical question is, "Who died?"

My family is so diverse that I could start my own UN, or at least a goulash. We are Ukrainian, Polish, Russian, Italian, Irish, German, Puerto Rican, African American, Jamaican, Catholic, Orthodox, Jewish, Protestant, and Muslim. We celebrate each other's holidays and honor each other's customs and religious beliefs. There's a holiday or birthday almost every week, so celebratory foods are a year-long commodity.

Then Happy Something to someone in your family! That sure is diversity!
