How Do I Color Ri?

Hi all...
I don't make RI very often. I know how to make it, but....When do you add the coloring? I made some last night, and got the ingredients for the RI mixing. When the mixing time was up, I stopped the mixer, added the coloring, and turned it back on for a minute or two. I was at a loss as when you are suppose to do this. Is this the correct way or not? Any help would be appreciated! Thank you!

If you are coloring the whole batch the same color that is fine to do it on the mixer. I use mine mostly for cookies so I make a whole batch then just color tiny amounts in a bowl as I need them.

I do the same as bbmom. Go easy with coloring, use toothpick to add small amount of color, and repeat until you get the shade of color you want.

Thank you for your information! I just wasn't sure how to add the color.
I needed red, and I think I got every shade of pink there is, until it finally turned to what I needed! icon_confused.gif
