I want to try the cake extender recipe but am a little confused by it. Do you mix 2 cake mixes seperately then mix them together then add the extender ingredients? Or, do you add the extender ingredients to each cake mix then add the 2 mixes together? Did I word that right? icon_razz.gif

When I tried it and put all my dry ingredients in the bowl and than added my wet mixed and put it in my pan. Are you doing two cake mixes and need to extend the both?

No, I only want to extend one cake mix. The way this recipe is worded, it sounds to me like it is extending 2 mixes. But that just doesn't seem right. lol

Just mix everything together. I usually do one cake mix & extender at one time as that's all my KA bowl will hold. When I need two cake mixes and extender, I just do them one at a time and then combine the two recipes together. Hope that clears up any confusion...

Happy Baking...

If you have the recipe that calls for 2 cake mixes and 2 cups of sugar, 2 cups of flour...etc.....just use half of everything and one cake mix. It works just fine. If you make the double batch, you will have ALOT of cake. Hope this helps.

Yeah, I don't need that much cake. Not this time anyway. But wait, can cake mix be frozen and used later? Anyone ever try this?

I WOULDN'T FREEZE BATTER, BUT YOUR CAN PRE-BAKE YOUR CAKE AND WRAP IN PLASTIC WRAP AND FOIL AND FREEZE. THE FREEZING ACTUALLY LOCKS IN MOISTURE.
