Wedding Bouquet Flavoring Question

Hello All!! I have a quick question:
I made a batch of sugarshack's icing last night and used the wedding bouquet flavoring I purchased through global sugar art. It turned out with a slight gritty texture, I know it's the flavoring as I have made this buttercream recipe in the past with just vanilla and almond. Is this normal? Do I have a bad batch? Just want to know, it has a good taste, but grainy.
I wouldnt think that the flavoring has anything to do with the grittiness, mavbe you had a bad batch of Powder sugar
I buy bulk powder sugar and made a batch of vanilla a few days prior. I fixed the problem by making a half batch of regular (and no grit) icing and mixed them~~most of the grittyness was gone. I think I will save this for flavoring cakes for now on.
I don't think it would be the flavor either....

Wedding bouquet is a flavoring that a lady makes in LA.
She developed the recipe.
