How Do I ... Tree Stump Cake

can anyone help me with the tree stump cakes - they are very cool and I would like to try one for my birthday.

stack and fill your round cakes. You can use cake scraps to make the roots. (I think I just piped the ganache out, though) The cake scraps would give it a better angled look, I think. I covered the top w/ a circle of fondant then used a thick ganache for the bark. Iced the cake and used the tines of a fork for the markings. It's bark so it doesn't have to be perfect. Paper wafer butterflies or dragonflies are a sweet touch. I hope that helps...it's really a pretty easy design.
