I bought the 1 lb can of powdered gumpaste mix, and you're supposed to add 1/4 cup of water. Can this be made in the KA mixer? Would it ruin the mixer or the mix? TIA!

I make marshmallow fondant in the KA and it works but doesn't sound too happy. When I've made gumpaste, it's stiffer than fondant so I'd be hesitant to try it. Do you have a food processor? I bet you could make it in there.

I've done it before - once. It wasn't because there was a problem w/ it, it worked just fine (the gumpaste at that stage is similar in consistency to fondant, & I've made fondant w/ my kitchenaide many times!).

The one time only was because it just proved more of a pain to use the big bowl & attachments & clean all that up, it was much easier just to use a wooden spoon & my hands..
