When To Crumb Coat?

Just curious about how long I should wait after baking before I crumb coat. Does the cake need time to settle, and if so, how long does it generally need to set? Thanks. icon_smile.gif

Hi...
I let the cake completely cool, then I torte and fill, and crumb coat. The cake then sits until the next day, so it can "settle'" before I ice and decorate.
