I am being lazy this AM and want to make a boxed cake mix but it calls for 1/2 cup oil. I ran out and only have butter. Can I substitute the butter for the oil? If so, do I melt it or not?
I use mayonaise instead of the oil for all my cakes..... what is mayo besides oil and eggs ? It makes a really nice moist cake, and no, you do not taste the mayo......
