i am a novice at cake decorations.
i am planning to make a tinkerbell themed cake for my daughter's bday
can i use plain fonadant for flowers and bows . i read some place that it is a good idea to mix gumpaste with fondant- how do i do that- what is the best way-welcome akk ideas

Of you plan on making realistic looking flowers, I would suggest you use gumpaste or 50/50 gumpaste fondant mixture. I actually prefer a mixture of gumpaste and fondant when I make my figures, bows and flowers. All you do is knead them together until you feel that it is combined. You can also turn your fondant into gumpaste by adding some tylose in it.
