Mixing Fondant With Gumpaste Or Adding Tylose Powder

I would like to make my fondant be able to hold it's shape when molding it. Is this the benefit derived from adding gumpaste to it or tylose powder?

A lot of people use 50/50 gumpaste and fondant. It does help it hold its shape, it makes it dry faster and it allows you to roll it out much thinner (for flowers).

You can make gumpaste by adding tylose to fondant.
