White Cake W/ Strawberry Swirls

I've lost a recipe for a cake and was wondering if anybody knew something about this: the cake was white (any recipe or box) and you took strawberry preserves (I think) and mixed them w/ something else and warmed it on the stove. After you put the batter in the pans, you swirled the preserves into the batter. My daughter wants this for her daughter's b.day and I can find it anywhere! Any suggestions are welcomed!

I just use any white cake mix, and swirl my strawberry filling into it.

Frozen chopped strawberries 10 oz.
1/2 c sugar
2 heaping tbsp cornstarch
1 tsp. vanilla

Mix all ingredients together in saucepan and simmer on low until mixture becomes thick.

Jayde, do you use this as a filling also? And do you use variations of this recipe if you do, thanks for your resonse

I do use it as my strawberry filling, but be sure to use a stiff BC dam before filling.

I also use the same recipe for blueberries, peaches, raspberries, etc.

Jayde~when using this filling, does the cake need to be refrigerated? If so, do you know if it's alright to refrigerate a decorated cake? I've never done this and was wondering if the decorations will slide off the cake as it warms up!
