I don't get them either. I get the e-mails from Michael's with the weekly ad, but there is never a coupon in it and I always wonder why.

I have bakery tools that are for cake only. I have a jig saw that I cut out the foam core boards and then sand with fine grit paper. By the time I get finished with them, they look "professionally" made. The sides then can be left alone if you like the white, covered in foil or fondant, or wrapped with ribbon.

Jlynnw -- Are you referring to the 3/16" or the 1/2" foamcore?

I use the 1/2 inch for the base board. The 3/16 inch I use for the upper tiers. It works on either but the 3/16 does not make a good base. I have stacked and glued a few layers together, then cut and sanded as if they were just one.
