My dd's 4th grade class is having a party at the park the last day of school. I want to make an 11x15 - with a sugar cookie between the two layers. That's something I've been wanting to try so it's a good time. The class has a big bag of M&Ms leftover that I've been holding and I might as well use those. It's actually for two classes and there are about 40 kids total (38, I think). My only idea was to write each of their names up the sides around the cake. I have no clue what to do on top or any other ideas at all. Any suggestions?
How fun! I LOVE this school cake... I like how each child's name is written on a fondant crayon. : )

This one is a sheet cake:

Other favorite 'school' cakes... can be adapted for an 11x15:

Here where I live the schools will only allow store bought cakes or cupcakes to be given to the kids. You may want to check with the office about their policies. Just a suggestion. I like your ideas.
